Nerves of steel are just the basics of survival to pull 3g’s on two wheels. However, the driving force at the core is a big heart. Leeland King, with his quiet demeanor, was winning everything in sight and well on his way to competing in Nationals and graduating to top fuel when his daughter was diagnosed with cancer. There was no question that without the heart the mind won’t follow.
 Lee took the time to be by his daughter’s side. He reversed roles to act as her honorary crew chief in her battle against cancer. Like a true champion—she won.
